Tom Cable punched out a defensive coach who gave him some lip. Not so sure that’s the kind of accountability that Al Davis was looking for this year.

Raiders head coach Tom Cable punched an assistant coach in the face and fractured his jaw in an Aug. 6 fight at a hotel, according to multiple published reports.

The victim in the case was Raiders defensive assistant Randy Hanson, fanhouse.com reported, citing multiple sources. According to an unnamed source, “Hanson never saw it coming.”

The incident, which was reported to police, took place at Oakland’s training camp headquarters at the Napa Valley Marriott.

“The victim didn’t even want any police action taken,” Napa Police Lt. Brian McGovern told fanhouse.com, “but we were following hospital policy that authorities be contacted in cases where there may have been an assault.”
