Partnering With Tarnation Sports

August 08, 2012 By: Katchop Category: MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, Other

Just wanted to let everyone know that we’ve officially partnered with TarnationSports.com and have started to design T Shirts for them!  They use high quality American Apparel shirts. They screen print the designs. They basically just do everything the right way, and it shows in the final product.

These really are the type of shirts that will last a long time, and we couldn’t be happier with the quality!

Here is our tribute to Patrick Ewing, available on shirts now at TarnationSports.com.

So if you have a spare moment, please head over to TarnationSports.com and check out the shirts.

Here is another example of the type of stuff we're trying to do over at TarnationSports.com

Sports Illustrated is about to drop their performance enhancing hammer on Lance Armstrong.

Lance Armstrong denies any wrongdoing, despite what Sports Illustrated has to say.

Lance Armstrong denies any wrongdoing, despite what Sports Illustrated has to say.

From SI.com

SI writers Selena Roberts and David Epstein reviewed hundreds of pages of documents and interviewed dozens of sources in Europe, New Zealand and the U.S. for a story in the Jan. 24 issue of the magazine, which will be available on newsstands Wednesday.

According to the story, “If a court finds that Armstrong won his titles while taking performance-enhancing drugs, his entourage may come to be known as the saddest deception in sports history.”

Lakers Win Game 1 Vs Jazz

May 03, 2010 By: Katchop Category: NBA, Other

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Utah Jazz in game 1 of their playoff series, but some people are still mad at coach Phil Jackson.

The Los Angeles Lakers may have won game 1 of their NBA Western Conference semifinal playoff series, but some folks still think that Phil Jackson is a descendant of Frankenstein (katchop)

From Bleacher Report

The Lakers $12 million dollar head coach made a serious miscalculation.  After the starters had ended both the second and third quarters with an eight-point margin, he put in the reserves to begin the fourth quarter.

Then Phil Jackson sat back calmly and watched his reserves go on an 0-for-9 binge as the Jazz not only cut the Lakers lead but took over the game.  It was under seven minutes when he finally put Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher back in the game.

Here they had built a lead.  Now Jackson was asking them to go in the game cold and build another lead against a team that was suddenly hot.

So much for the vacation, the siesta, or the intermission as one writer had put it.

The Lakers not only had to work to try to win a game that they already had won.  But Bryant, Gasol and Lamar Odom had to work doubly hard to get back adrenalin and their swagger back and overcome a four-point deficit.

Pacquiao Beats Clottey

March 14, 2010 By: Katchop Category: NFL, Other

Manny Pacquiao threw 1,231 punches and beat Joshua Clottey in Jerry Jones’ gazillion dollar stadium.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has always been one of the boldest and most innovative risk takers in the NFL. His latest high-stakes gamble is the new Cowboys Stadium, a $1.2 billion palace in Arlington, Tex.

Arum and Jones, two of the shrewdest men in their professions, have teamed up to stage a 12-round welterweight match between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night.

Arum and Jones have underlying motives for holding this fight at Cowboys Stadium, which will be scaled down to 45,000 fans with the lowest price ticket being $20. Jones wants to showcase his stadium as a sports and entertainment mecca. Last month it was the site of the NBA All-Star game. Next year Cowboys Stadium will host the Super Bowl and, in 2012, it will be the site for the NCAA Final Four.

Hanging onto a precarious three-point lead and with momentum on the other side, linebacker Eryk Anders was determined not to let the championship slip away.

Anders forced a fumble on his blindside sack of Texas backup quarterback Garrett Gilbert with 3:02 left Thursday night to help the top-ranked Crimson Tide hold on for a 37-21 victory in the BCS title game—a win that figured to be much easier when Alabama knocked out Colt McCoy early in the first quarter.

In between, there was a pie-throwing contest at “Live! with Regis and Kelly,” fashion advice from Brian Vickers to Kurt Busch, and Ryan Newman’s attempt to toss popcorn across a room and into someone’s open mouth.

Then it was time to change into full protective gear for the pie-throwing contest, which the drivers reluctantly participated in. It was the show’s attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest custard pie-throwing contest. The drivers were given full rain suits—Busch promptly affixed a sponsor logo to his—and protective goggles

Boise Punch

September 04, 2009 By: Katchop Category: Other

LeGarrette Blount got all goofy at the end of the Boise State game.

As the Broncos began celebrating on their famous blue turf, Hout yelled in Blount’s face and tapped him on the shoulder pad. That drew an immediate scream from Boise State head coach Chris Petersen, but before Petersen could pull Hout away, Blount landed a right hand to the defensive end’s jaw.

The Dolphins already have a number of celebrity stakeholders, with musicians Jimmy Buffet and Gloria and Emilio Estefan becoming minority partners this year, and Serena believes it represents a good opportunity to expand the Williams brand.

“There have been preliminary talks and hopefully it will work out,” she said.

“That would be a great opportunity for both of us. We’ll see what happens – you never know.

“Venus and I are always trying to expand our brand. If the opportunity presents itself, we would love to see where it can take us.”

Wrong Fan Booted

August 13, 2009 By: Katchop Category: MLB, Other

cubfan1 Security kicked out a fan after Shane Victorino was hit with a beer during the Philles – Cubs game last night. The trouble is the fan they booted didn’t throw a beer.

Joseph P. Owens of The Express-Times is kind of steamed about the whole incident:

If a fan in Philadelphia had committed this act, there would be national fury over the hoodlum fans in Philly. We would have heard about pelting Santa with snowballs 40 years ago and cheering Michael Irvin’s injury as he was sprawled on the turf at Veterans Stadium. But not the loveable Cubbies fans, right? Supposedly, ballpark security removed the wrong fan and the real creep slipped away. Surrounding fans didn’t finger the actor. Fans in Philly would have. Dozens of Cubbie fans surely knew who did it. This mess is certain to ignite a war of words between the Windy City and the City of Brotherly Love.
