Canada Goes Winless At FIBA
Canada failed to win a game at the FIBA World Championships.
The Canadians went winless in their first appearance in the world championships in eight years.
Nineteen-year-old Kelly Olynyk of Kamloops, B.C., led Canada with 14 points, while Toronto’s Jevohn Shepherd had 12. Miaqmi Heat centre Joel Anthony of Montreal added six rebounds.
Rudy Fernandez and Fran Vasquez each had 19 points, while 19-year-old Ricky Rubio had eight points and eight assists for Spain, which raced out to a 28-17 lead after one quarter.
